Travis Lee Wiggins is a Chicago-based creative. He is primarily known today as a Musician and Graphic Designer, although he has also made a large amount of art & has done a lot of writing as well.

Music

Wiggins is a founding member of the bands Essex Chanel, Fetla, The Salts (The Summer Salts), The Personal FX, Friends Having Fun, Dolphins Swimming, and Nick & Travis in Outer Space.  In most of these bands he is the lead or shares lead songwriting tasks. He started Beware of Dog Studios in 2006 to have a place to record his music. As a songwriter he has written over 500 songs.  As a recording artist he has released 18 full-length albums and 328 songs (as of February 2011). Many of his band’s album’s he produces, mixes, arranges, or engineers himself. He started Sweet Goodness Music in 2009, an independent label to manage the business side of his music and catalog.

Graphic Design

Wiggins received a BFA from Ball State University for Graphic Design. He has worked at Publications International Ltd since 2003 starting as an Art Assistant working his way up through the ranks and is now an Art Director. His freelance varies from doing designs for all his music-related endeavors, websites, in just about every format imaginable.

Visual Art

Wiggins received a BFA from Ball State University for Painting. His work is less important on the medium and much more focused on concept. He works in varying styles, some have called anti-style because it is different from one piece to the next. He dappled in performance art. His college catalog consisted of a lot of paintings and drawings.  He eventually moved on to more collage and conceptual work. Eleven Exclamation Points was a zine/mailing he published from 2001-2004. He still sporatically produces pieces, especially in relation to his music, but his visual art has definitely taken a back seat to music.

Writing

Wiggins has written 2 novels, Bowling Alley Politics and Straight, No Chaser. He has written a lot of poetry and short stories, but most of his current writing centers around the lyrics to his music.
